Previous Experience

Nikki is Interim Chair of the Board of Falcon Education Academies Trust, having previously worked in the motor industry where she received numerous awards, including an OBE for services to the road transport industry.

In 1996 Nikki set up Isuzu Truck UK and grew it into a multimillion pound business and after facilitating a buyout in 2013, Nikki stepped down as MD and became its Honorary Chairman.

Nikki turned her focus to education after retiring from ITUK and she became Chair of the Skills for Life Trust (formerly Greenacre Academy Trust) in 2014 and was also the only business leader in the UK to be appointed to one of the eight Head Teacher Boards, a Dept of Education Initiative.

Nikki is also a Member of the STEP Academy Trust.

Tom was, until 2012, Chief Executive of Intermediate Capital Group PLC one of the leading global fund managers and providers of private debt. In 2011 he was appointed non-executive of Hg Capital, a leading private equity firm, and was for several years Chairman. He was previously director of HSBC Investment Bank and a Non-Executive Director of several other companies including Gala Coral, the AA, IPC Media, Wightlink and Target Express; and until recently a Director of the Private Equity Foundation and the Centre for Social Justice, a member of the Commission for Social Mobility and Child Poverty and Non-Executive Chairman of the Academies and Free Schools Board at the Department for Education and on the Board of A-Plan.

He is also Chairman of T4 Trust plc, the Attwood Education Foundation and Attwood Academies Trust, sponsor of Bexhill Academy and Ian Mikardo High School and Hg Foundation.
